Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God?

This is genuinely debated, even among Christians. In one sense, Muslims and Christians are both talking about the same kind of being: the one Creator of everything, with no equal. Arabic-speaking Christians have actually used the word "Allah" for God for centuries—it simply means "the God" in Arabic.

But referring to the same being isn't the same as describing him accurately. Christianity teaches God is triune—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God in three persons. Islam firmly rejects this as a serious error, and also denies Jesus is God's Son in any divine sense.

So Christians reasonably land in different places. Some emphasize the real overlap: one Creator, one moral judge over everyone. Others emphasize that a being described without the Trinity and without Jesus as God isn't fully the same God the Bible describes. Both concerns deserve to be taken seriously, not dismissed.
