Are miracles and healing gifts still happening today?

Most Christians throughout history and around the world today would say yes—while also urging real caution about how any specific claim gets evaluated.

The New Testament describes healing as one of several gifts the Holy Spirit gives believers, and James instructs the sick to call for the church's elders to pray over them in faith. Christians across many traditions, especially in the fast-growing global church in places like Africa, Asia, and Latin America, regularly report answered prayers for healing.

At the same time, the Bible itself is honest that not every prayer for healing gets answered the way we hope. Paul prayed three times for his own "thorn in the flesh" to be removed, and it wasn't—God's answer to him was that his grace was enough, even in continued weakness.

So the fair answer is: yes, many sincere Christians see God still healing today, but healing was never presented in Scripture as something guaranteed on demand.
