Why should I believe Christianity instead of Islam?

Islam and Christianity share real common ground: one Creator God, moral responsibility, honored prophets, and a coming judgment. But at the center, they make claims that can't both be true.

The biggest difference is about Jesus. The Quran honors Jesus as a prophet, born of a virgin, but teaches he wasn't God and, in most classical Islamic teaching, wasn't actually crucified. Christianity teaches Jesus is God who became human, that he really died on a Roman cross, and that he rose from the dead—and everything about forgiveness depends on that being true.

So this isn't mainly "which religion do I like more." It's a historical question: did Jesus rise from the dead or not? If he didn't, Christianity falls apart. If he did, it points to him being exactly who Christians say he is.

That's why examining the evidence for the resurrection honestly matters more than comparing religions in the abstract.
