Can people in heaven see what's happening on Earth?

Scripture gives limited, genuinely debated evidence here, and it's honest to resist more certainty than the text actually supports.

Hebrews describes believers as surrounded by "a great cloud of witnesses," language some read as suggesting the deceased are actively watching current events, though many scholars read it instead as a rhetorical image—comparing readers to competitors in a stadium encouraged by the memory and example of faithful people who came before, not a literal claim about ongoing surveillance.

A different passage in Revelation describes martyred believers in heaven aware of unresolved injustice on earth, crying out "how long" until it's addressed—suggesting at least some awareness of earthly events in that specific case, though it's one particular vision, not a general statement about everyone in heaven watching everything continuously.

Given how limited and debated the relevant texts are, it's more honest to hold this loosely than to state confidently, either way, exactly what the departed do or don't perceive about current earthly life.
