Why doesn't God heal everyone who prays for healing?

No answer here should be offered as if it erases the real pain behind this question.

The Bible itself doesn't promise every prayer for healing will be answered the way we hope. Paul prayed three times for a physical affliction to be removed and was told no, with a different kind of strength offered instead. James encourages believers to pray for the sick and expect real results, without guaranteeing every prayer succeeds.

Christians hold different views on why some people are healed and others aren't—some emphasize God's timing and purposes we can't always see, others emphasize a fallen, not-yet-fully-healed world groaning toward final restoration, others emphasize mystery honestly admitted rather than explained away.

If you're carrying disappointment or unanswered prayer for healing, that grief is legitimate. It's not evidence you didn't pray hard enough or believe enough.
