What if I married the wrong person?

Most marriages go through real disappointment and difficulty at some point. That alone doesn't mean a mistake was made—it usually means you married an actual, imperfect human being, which is what marriage always involves.

It helps to separate ordinary marital struggle from situations of real danger. Ordinary struggle—disconnection, conflict, disappointment, growing in different directions—is common, and it's usually worth investing real effort into, including counseling, before assuming the relationship itself was a mistake.

Abuse or genuine danger is a different category entirely. Safety comes first in that situation, and no one should be told to just endure harm for the sake of the marriage.

This app isn't the place to diagnose your specific situation. What can be said generally: struggling doesn't automatically mean you chose wrong, and if you're in real danger, getting safe matters more than any theological question about the relationship.
