Do pets and animals go to heaven?

Nobody can answer this with real certainty, and it's more honest to say that plainly than to promise something Scripture doesn't.

The Bible doesn't directly address whether animals have an afterlife. One Old Testament writer even raises the question openly without answering it, wondering aloud whether a person's spirit and an animal's spirit go to different places after death or not.

What Scripture does say is that God calls animals good at creation, and describes a future where all of creation—not only humans—is renewed and made new. Some Christians take that as real reason for hope that animals, maybe even specific pets, could be part of a restored creation. Others think that reads more into the promise than it states.

This is genuinely open territory. Confident hope is reasonable here. Confident certainty, in either direction, isn't something Scripture actually gives you.
