Tough Questions
How can Jesus be the only way when billions of people follow other religions?
Christianity's claim that Jesus is the only way to God can sound arrogant—especially when billions of sincere people follow other religions.
But the claim isn't supposed to mean Christians are better than everyone else.
It comes from who Christians believe Jesus is.
Jesus didn't simply teach one possible path to God. He said, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6). Christianity claims that humanity's problem is something only God can ultimately fix, and that God acted through Jesus to do exactly that.
Of course, Christians believing this doesn't make it true.
The real question is whether Jesus' claims are true.
If he really is who he claimed to be and really rose from the dead, his claim deserves extraordinary attention.
So Christianity shouldn't ask:
“Which religion do I like best?”
It should ask:
“What actually happened—and who is Jesus?”
